Bay Area Regional Reliability Partnership Update
How are Bay Area water agencies working together to improve drought resiliency and respond to climate change?
Join us to hear an update from the 8 agency Bay Area Regional Reliability (BARR) Partnership on the work they are doing to develop a regional solution to improve the water supply reliability for over 6 million area residents and the thousands of businesses and industries in the Bay Area. BARR published a report in December 2017 (here) that detailed 16 drought mitigation measures. Those measures included interties, expanded storage in Los Vaqueros Reservoir, treatment/supply including a regional desalination project, and various operational changes including exchanges and transfers. The BARR Partnership is currently developing a Shared Water Access Program (SWAP) to facilitate water supply transfers to (and exchanges within) the Bay Area.
