His distinguished career includes service as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, White House Chief of Staff, Director of the Office of Management and Budget, and a longtime member of Congress representing California.

At the CIA, Panetta led the intelligence operation that brought Osama bin Laden to justice. As Secretary of Defense, he shaped U.S. defense strategy during a period of global transition, led critical counterterrorism efforts, and strengthened alliances around the world.
