East Bay Leadership Series | Camille Crittenden & Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan
PRESENTED BY
Artificial intelligence is reshaping industries, workforce demands, and community well-being, while also driving new pressures on energy systems and infrastructure. In April, the East Bay Leadership Series continues with a timely conversation on the societal impacts of this technology and the policy leadership needed to guide it in the region and beyond.
We are excited to welcome Camille Crittenden, Executive Director of the CITRIS and the Banatao Institute and co-founder of the CITRIS Tech Policy Initiative and EDGE in Tech at UC, for a keynote address followed by a Q&A moderated alongside Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan.
Crittenden brings deep expertise at the intersection of technology, governance, and equity. She currently serves on the UC AI Council and has previously chaired the California Blockchain Working Group and co-chaired the University of California's Presidential Working Group on Artificial Intelligence Student Experience subcommittee.
Her perspective will be complemented by Assemblymember Bauer-Kahan's legislative leadership on artificial intelligence, bringing a practical policy and accountability lens to the discussion. As Chair of the Committee on Privacy and Consumer Protection, she is helping California lead the way in setting clear guardrails for AI, protecting consumers and mitigating risk while supporting responsible innovation.
Together, our speakers will explore how to advance innovation that is ethical and human-centered, the governing frameworks needed to protect the public, the role civic and economic institutions play in helping communities adapt, and the workforce strategies necessary to prepare for an AI economy.
Join us as we explore how to harness this technology in ways that strengthen and protect the East Bay.
