SUMMARY:Water Task Force Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Warner Chabot will discuss the San Francisco Bay Shoreline Adaptation Atlas - a landmark report that offers a national model for regional collaboration and working with nature to provide science-based\, climate adaptation options for our shoreline communities. \n\n\n\nAbout the Atlas\n\n- Proposes a science-based\, and locally specific framework to respond to sea level rise vulnerabilities by working with nature.\n\n\n\n- Offers a suite of nature-based and policy options to fend off climate impacts\, including shoreline flooding\, with solutions that are often more effective\, less expensive to maintain\, and provide greater benefits that traditional engineered approaches. \n\n\n\n- Cuts across traditional jurisdictional boundaries\, allowing stakeholders who experience similar hazards and share similar coastal settings to come together to develop effective adaptation strategies.\n\n\n\nAbout the Speaker\n\n\n\nWarner Chabot is the Executive Director San Francisco Estuary Institute (SFEI). SFEI is a non-profit science institute that provides independent science and scientific tools to public\, private and non-profit partners.
