SUMMARY:Water Task Force Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for our February 18 Water Task Force meeting. Our topic is the California WateReuse Action Plan - its 2020 Drivers\, Challenges and Opportunities\n\n \n\nAbout the Event\n\nIn 2019\, the State Water Resources Control Board (Water Board) updated California's Recycled Water Policy and added new ambitious recycled water goals for the state. To help meet these goals and enhance the state's sustainable water supplies\, WateReuse California prepared the California WateReuse Action Plan to clearly identify state and local actions that must be completed over the coming decades.\n\n\n\nThese actions include additional research\, funding\, and regulations\, such as Raw Water Augmentation and Treated Drinking Water Augmentation regulations. The WateReuse Action Plan provides a clear and concise strategy to advance water reuse in California over the next 30 years to help address the state's greatest water challenges as part of a comprehensive water resilience portfolio.\n\n \n\nAbout our Speaker\n\nRich Nagel is President of the California WateReuse Association and Vice Chair of the Urban Water Institute. Rich is also a Vice President at Jacobs Engineering based in their Los Angeles office. Prior to joining Jacobs in 2017\, Rich had 31 years of experience in public service with water utilities\, most recently as General Manager of the West Basin Municipal Water District from 2006 to 2017.\n\n\n\nUnder his guidance\, West Basin obtained the first permit in California to deliver 100% indirect potable reuse water to the Water Replenishment District of Southern California and injected by Los Angeles County Department of Public Works into West Coast Basin Barrier Injection Well System.
