DESCRIPTION:You hear a lot in the press and from your various technical and community organizations about Climate Change and Sea level (and Bay level) rise and its impacts on flood protection\, stormwater\, water and wastewater facilities.\n\n\n\nYou probably have not thought as much about the effects coming from below the ground surface! Please join us in person for a discussion of Sea Level rise\, its effects on coastal facilities and infrastructure above ground\, and also the effects below ground as well.\n\nOur speakers will present the effects on the Bay Area as a whole\, and relate it to the East Bay communities as well.\n\n \n\nAbout our Speakers\n\nMillie Cowley-Crawford\, PE CFM\, is an Associate Principal at Woodard & Curran.  She has over twenty years of experience in floodplain management and civil engineering\, Millie is a senior expert in water resources management and planning\, risk assessment\, design review and regulatory compliance. She has led climate resiliency and sea level rise adaptation and mitigation projects for Bay Area communities including the City of Millbrae and associated cities and agencies on the Peninsula\, and Union Sanitary District.    \n\n \n\nReid Fisher\, PhD\, GP\, CEG\, is a Senior Principal Geologist with Cal Engineering & Geology.  He has more than 35 years of Bay Area experience evaluating geologic hazards and their impacts on public and private infrastructure. Reid's expertise includes evaluating groundwater and hydrogeology in alluvial basins and the impacts of changing groundwater levels on the built environment. \n\n \n\nWe cannot wait to see you all in person!\n\n \n\n\n\nThe East Bay Leadership Council's Water & Environment Task Force meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month and covers issues ranging from water storage and reliability to air quality regulations and innovations in energy. Employees of member companies and guests are invited to attend.
