SUMMARY:Water & Environment Task Force
DESCRIPTION:Let's talk about carbon neutrality! Join the East Bay Leadership Council's Water and Environment Task Force for a discussion with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) about recent research on negative carbon emission options and permitting carbon capture projects. This is a great opportunity to learn about carbon capture and storage projects in California and explore ideas for meeting the state's ambitious carbon reduction goals.\n\n \n\nAbout our speakers:\n\n\n\nSarah Baker is a Staff Scientist at LLNL where she has worked for 15 years. She is a material and analytical chemist experienced with the synthesis\, surface chemistry\, and characterization of semiconducting\, nanostructured optical\, catalytic\, biological and electrochemically active materials.\n\n\n\nGeorge Peridas is the Director of Carbon Management at LLNL where he has worked for almost 4 years. Prior to that he worked at the Natural Resources Defense Council and before that as a Research Assistant at the University of Oxford. George is devoting his career to public policy advocacy and changing laws\, regulations and treaties to protect public health\, welfare\, and the environment.
