Dredging supports our regional economy with several hundred billion dollars of direct and indirect economic benefits\, and provides for water-based recreation. The average annual cost to the U.S. Treasury is in the range of $50 to $80 million. \n\n\n\nPlanning for future dredge material management is coupled with local planning efforts for sea-level rise and environmental projects.
