SUMMARY:Infrastructure Task Force
DESCRIPTION:Please join EBLC's Infrastructure Task Force for a conversation with MTC on the implementation of Plan Bay Area 2050+ and what comes next now that the plan has been approved by the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC). This discussion will focus on the practical implications and near-term outlook for the Bay Area\, including what projects\, policies\, and investments we are likely to see on the ground\, what success looks like from MTC's perspective\, and the key milestones the agency is working toward in the coming years. The conversation will also explore accountability mechanisms for advancing the plan's goals\, how regional priorities may interact with city budgets and planning processes\, and the potential influence of upcoming ballot measures on implementation efforts.\n\nPlan Bay Area 2050+ is the Bay Area's long-range regional strategy for addressing transportation\, housing\, the economy\, and environmental resilience through the year 2050 and beyond. Developed jointly by ABAG and MTC\, the plan outlines a coordinated approach aimed at accommodating future growth while reducing greenhouse gas emissions\, improving mobility\, expanding housing opportunities\, and strengthening resilience to climate and wildfire risks. The final adopted plan includes a series of integrated strategies and investments intended to shape how the region grows over the coming decades.\n\nAttendees are encouraged to review the final plan in advance of the meeting: https://planbayarea.org/finalplan\n\nOUR SPEAKER\n\n\n\nDave Vautin is the Director of Regional Planning at MTC and ABAG\, where he leads efforts to advance transportation\, housing\, environmental resilience\, and land use initiatives across the Bay Area.
