Economic Development Task Force Update

The Economic Development Task Force hosted an innovative Moving Meeting on May 28^th. EBLC members rode BART from the North Concord BART Station to the new Antioch Station and discussed current and future development plans along the route. City and County staff and BART Directors were on-board to answer questions and talk about the opportunities and challenges they encounter with transit-oriented development.

The group also discussed parking at the Antioch BART Station and the possibility of future BART lines throughout the East Bay. During the return trip back to North Concord, members discussed SB 736 a bill that would create a Task Force to consider the creation of a state fund designed to help local governments compete with other states in the bidding processes for major events.
